On the eve of Children’s Day, the Cedar Foundation was awarded the Golden Apple Award of the National Network for Children in the category “Children’s Organization”. We were selected from a total of 10 organizations after an online vote in which over 5,000 people voted for their favourite in the competition. We are proud of this award and take it as another incentive to continue and expand our activities.
The award is a well-deserved recognition, especially for our team of nearly 100 professionals working in our social services in Kyustendil and Kazanlak. The award is for every single social worker, psychologist, social-, kinesi-, occupational- and art therapist dedicated to the mission of changing lives. Our team is an example and an inspiration for how to deal with the challenges in everyday work in social services. Through their daily work, they show how to be better and more successful in caring for children with disabilities so they can reach their full potential and be an active part of society – visible, significant and respected.
Besides recognition, we take the award as a great responsibility. To continue…
To make a difference in the lives of children at risk and people with disabilities, as well as in societal attitudes towards the disadvantaged.
To be a sustainable partner of the state, contributing to the formulation of laws and regulations that ensure good care and support for those in need.
To collaborate with businesses and promote corporate social responsibility as a driver of positive change.
To share our experience with other organizations and collaborate with them to achieve high-quality social services.
Because we believe that achieving sustainable change is only possible with collaborative efforts from the NGO sector, government, business and the community.
Thank you to our colleagues from the “Child and Space” Association for the nomination, and to everyone who voted for us and supported us!
About the Golden Apple Award
For the fourteenth time in a row, the National Network for Children awarded the Golden Apple to individuals, organizations, institutions and companies that have contributed to the protection of children’s rights and the improvement of their well-being through their work.
The National Network for Children is an alliance of civil organisations and supporters working with and for children and families across the country. To ensure the rights and improve the well-being of children and families in Bulgaria, the organisation carries out advocacy campaigns in partnership with the NGO sector, businesses, institutions and individual citizens and with the support of children themselves. The network also works actively to consolidate NGOs working in the field and to improve communication and exchange of experience and good practices between them.
