Invitation to Hydrotherapy Training

What is hydrotherapy?

Hydrotherapy is a supporting therapy to improve the condition of children and young people with motor and intellectual difficulties. It is performed by a kinesiotherapist in a pool with warm mineral water. An individual plan is drawn up according to the needs of the child. Children and young people with intellectual disabilities can be included in group activities. The warm water environment is extremely relaxing and helps to reduce muscle tension as well as improving the emotional state of the children and youth.

Who is the invitation for?

We are looking for kinesiotherapists or final year students with an interest and/or experience of working with children and people with disabilities. The training will include children and young people with disabilities who live in Cedar Foundation family-type homes.

Where and when will the training take place?

The training is free of charge and lasts 5 days. It will take place between 24 and 28 July in Pavel Banya. Upon completion, participants will receive a certificate and 2 of them will be able to continue working using the taught method for a period of 1 calendar year with hourly employment in Kazanlak.

Who is the trainer?

Daniela Sadikova is the founder of Sport Club SHARK and co-founder of ParaKids. She holds a PhD in Kinesitherapy from the National Sports Academy “Vasil Levski” and a Master’s degree in Adapted Physical Activity and Sport.

She founded Sport Club SHARK in 2015 and since then has been working with children with motor and mental disabilities through the ParaKids project, as well as children with spinal curvature disorders.
