Friday afternoon, a grey spring day. The gym is full of people. ‘I overheard a group of young people saying they were working out for a cause today,’ a friend of CEDAR is saying. The next day, another (new) friend told us: ‘I went swimming on Friday, but I didn’t know about this campaign. Now I’m happy I also contributed! I’ll keep an eye out next year.’
This refers to Sneaker Day – an annual campaign by Multisport, which this year took place on 27 March. Every workout with a Multisport card on this day generates funds to support the now regular hydro-rehabilitation sessions for children and young people from our centers.
Hydro-rehabilitation is a supportive therapy that improves the condition of people with physical and intellectual disabilities. It takes place in a pool with warm mineral water, and the rehabilitation specialist develops an individual plan tailored to each person’s needs. The relaxing warm water environment reduces muscle tension and also improves the emotional wellbeing of the children and young people.
We have already shared how we began providing this therapy in 2024 – we trained specialists and hired two of them, who started working with children and young people in Kazanlak. In 2025, we expanded the service to Kyustendil, and with the funds raised this year we will be able to continue providing the therapy throughout the current year.
Multisport has supported our cause for the fourth consecutive year. This year, their initiative received the special Engage Award in the Responsible Business Awards of the Bulgarian Business Leaders Forum. And the number of people exercising for a cause keeps growing – this year they were 32,737!
We are grateful to each and every one of them!

Sometimes, causes are built through small movements – the key is consistency and being many.
