On June 10, we were invited by our colleagues from BCause Foundation to share our fundraising experience at the “Accelerate Success” forum – the closing event of the second Fundraising Accelerator – Spring 2022 organized by BCause as part of the project “Inform, Engage, Succeed!”.
Iva Hadzhiyska, Director of Fundraising and Communications, spoke about the year-long experience of the Cedar Foundation in organizing charity quizzes. “We have over 10 years of experience in organizing pub quizzes. We have organized something like 45 public events, and over 15 for corporate partners, online and offline. It’s a great way to bring people together to tell them about the cause, and for them to have fun at the same time,” Iva shared with the forum. Along with the fun of having a charity quiz, Iva drew attention to the fact that this mechanism is suitable when non-profits are looking to fund a certain smaller project or need. “It is a good mechanism for building and nurturing communities, but for organizations like ours it only works as an addition to regular donations are corporate support.”
In our rich portfolio of fundraising mechanisms, the quiz is a favorite event for our team. But the need to raise around 700,000 leva this year to further fund the services we run and build on their quality is a serious challenge and it requires a variety of activities and campaigns. But as Iva also said, “We have our network of partnering donors – without them there can be no ‘we’.
