In November, we completed participating in the program “Address for 30 Young People” of ADDRESS Real Estate in partnership with the BCause Foundation. As part of this program, we supported three young adults with career development and support through personal development mentoring.
Sasho, Lili, and Denis* are young people who lived in one of our family houses until recently. Each has taken their own path, yet we continue to meet regularly. They share with us their aspirations for development, their successes and pursuits, their frustrations, or simply talk to a loved one.
A few months into the program, we already have two diplomas of course completion and one driver’s license on the way.
Lili has successfully completed her manicurist and pedicurist course and is very happy to be able to work in this field. Since completing his course Sasho has been practising his new hairdressing and barbering skills on his friends. He hopes that his certificate for passing the exam with a score of “A” will open the door to advancement in this profession. Denis has successfully passed the internal theory test for his driving licence. And once he has taken his practical test, he is looking forward to taking on new work assignments in the company where he works.
In the uncertainty of what the professions of the future will be, three young people in Kazanlak can proudly say that they have clarity about their present. Manicurist, hairdresser and driver are the new careers of Lili, Sasho and Denis.
Our project “Professional realization for a better future” was funded by the program “Address for 30 Young People” of ADRESS Real Estate in partnership with the BCause Foundation. And our mentoring program for youth leaving our care will continue next year.
*The names of the young people have been changed.
