Today marks the 35th anniversary of the adoption of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, a significant milestone in the global fight for children’s rights and well-being worldwide. On this occasion, the Cedar Foundation was honored with an award for its active work in defending children’s rights in Bulgaria.
At an official ceremony at the Council of Ministers, the Foundation’s Executive Director, Alexandrina Dimitrova, received the award from the Minister of Labor and Social Policy, Ivaylo Ivanov. A total of 35 civil society organizations and activists were recognized. The ceremony was also attended by Prime Minister Dimitar Glavchev and the Minister of Education and Science, Professor Galin Tsokov.
This award is a recognition of the dedicated work of the entire Foundation team and our continuous efforts to improve the quality of life for the most vulnerable children in Bulgaria.
It is also proof of the importance of our mission to provide better care for disadvantaged children and youth and support their integration into the community, ensuring they have a fair, fulfilling, and dignified life.
The Cedar Foundation expresses sincere gratitude to all our partners and supporters, without whom our work would not be possible. We will continue to defend children’s rights because we believe that every child deserves a chance for a happy and dignified future.
The event was an important opportunity to remind everyone of the significance of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child and to highlight the commitment of the Cedar Foundation, as well as the other award-winning organizations and activists, to improving the lives of children in Bulgaria.
