Our monthly donation program “Sponsor a Child” has been active for 7 years and is one of our most preferred methods of support. Through this program, our supporters choose to help a specific child with BGN60 per month and also get a chance, should they wish, to receive news of the child, as well as photos. Most of the supporters of the program have been with us for years and are practically growing with the children, whom they support. They are sending birthday presents and get excited for the first day of school or upcoming vacations.
Due to the large interest in the programme, we decided to expand it and look for sponsors for some of our young adults, living in one of the Foundation’s centers in Kazanlak. Eight wonderful young boys (already men by age) – most of them are non verbal, but each one of them is unique with his own quirks and charm. They are all extremely disciplined, tolerant and are always helping each other. They work wonderfully well in a team and look after one another, as well as after their home and garden.
In exchange for only BGN60 per month, you can become a frequent supporter and help one of these young adults in covering his individual needs (clothes, cosmetics, personal hygiene, education materials and social inclusion activities).
If you wish to participate in the program, please contact iva@cedarfoundation.org or call us at 0884962986.
Marti is our tech guru and his passion is cables. One Christmas, Marti asked Santa to bring him not just anything, but a power strip with 5 sockets and 30 metres of cable. Marti can’t hear, but he compensates with his amazing conviviality, bright mood and sign language skills.
Stancho is very artistic. He loves painting and singing is his passion. While doing his daily activities, he is constantly humming and he manages to spread his bright mood to the people around him. At the moment, he is learning how to cut out shapes and he is able cut out a dog along the lines, with minimal help.
For Ivan, everything is rhythm and dynamics. He loves music, dancing and making sounds with musical instruments and other objects. But his favourite activity is using the veloergometer and channeling his energy in daily exercise.
