On May 3rd, at the Hilton Hotel in Sofia, Cedar Foundation had its Annual General Meeting. The meeting’s main focus is to express Cedar’s gratitude and appreciation to all the people involved in or close to our mission – to lead positive change in state policies and social attitude towards disadvantaged children and adults.

Our CEO Alexandrina Dimitrova greeted the guests, expressing Cedar’s sincere appreciation for all their support during 2016 and told them about our achievements and challenges throughout the year. “ We had a call recently from two of kids who used to live in our SGHs – Asya. She and her brother were adopted by an American family two months ago. Asya shared that they are both happy and loved, they are successfully adapting, both of them started taking piano lessons. She also said they missed the people from Cedar but are thankful for the chance they we’ve given them. I, on the other hand, would like to thank you, for making happy endings possible. We couldn’t have done it without you.”

During the event Cedar presented its Annual Report which resumes the foundations policies, development strategies and the results from our last year’s efforts. We also showed a video from the children’s visit to Rowing Center Pancharevo which made our guests witnesses to the essence of our mission – the smiles in the children’s eyes.

Some of the children and young adults from Kyustendil and Kazanlak were the special guests of the event. They had prepared a performance which included a Traditional Bulgarian folklore song, accompanied by Beatbox and a Traditonal bulgarian dance.

The Annual Meeting was realized with the help of our partners from Hilton Hotel Sofia, NeedUs, DigiMark, Heineken, Magic Outdoor and Angelus Estate.
