The results which the Cedar Foundation achieved in 2017 and the realization of our targets for 2018 were the topic of discussion in the recent meeting between Dr. Eleonora Lilova, the chair of the State Agency for Child Protection (SACP) and Ms. Alexandrina Dimitrova, Cedar’s Executive Director.
The Foundation is the largest non-governmental provider of the family-type homes service in Bulgaria and we manage nine centers which house 105 children and youths. We have 99 professionals in our team who provide daily care to these children and youths and constantly strive to improve their own skills and to build upon previous results.
Our efforts and the results we have achieved with respect to the provision of services for children without parental care were rated highly by the Chair of SACP. In addition, Dr. Lilova thanked the Cedar Foundation for its contribution to the work of the Permanent Expert Working Group on Deinstitutionalization, where Ms. Dimitrova is also a co-chair.Dr. Lilova and Cedar’s Executive Director discussed the creation of a new National Strategy for the Child and united around the need for an integrated approach in child policy.
