The event is a corporate relay race for teams of 4 runners. Every team consists of 4 people, every runner does 4 laps by 1 km each; a 16 km in total per team. This year’s event includes individual competition – 1 km for executive directors and managers of companies – CEO Dash and running race for children – Kids Run. All participants are also invited to a networking event on June 2, Friday.
This year we are proud to announce that part of the funds raised during the race will go to Cedar’s cause “Help me feel significant”, an initiative aiming to ensure occupational therapy for the children and young adults in our care.
The Postbank Business Run is yet another event in which Begach Running Club is supporting Cedar foundation, following the Pancharevo Trail Marathon where 2500 BGN were raised for our cause.
Occupational therapy is an effective method for maintaining mental health, reducing anxiety, and aiding attention and concentration.
Occupational therapy sessions encourage people with disabilities to participate in social life by learning to perform everyday activities such as cooking, taking care of the household, gardening. Another goal is to integrate the person and ease their participation in activities that they need and enjoy, thus providing them with a sense of fulfillment and satisfaction. Thanks to the regular occupational therapy and as a result of our program for employment support, 5 of our young adults with intellectual disabilities work in the community.
The funds that will be raised at the event will be invested in the continuation of the occupational therapy for the children and young adults in the family-type houses in Kyustendil and Kazanlak, where:
- 2500 BGN will ensure the annual occupational therapy for 5 children and young adults;
- 5000 BGN will ensure the annual occupational therapy for 10 children and young adults;
- 7500 BGN will ensure the annual occupational therapy for 15 children and young adults.
Everyone needs to feel useful. Let’s help our children and young adults feel complete and significant.
