The traditional Annual General Meeting of The Cedar Foundation took place on April 30th at Hotel Hilton in Sofia. The gathering takes place every year and is an act of gratitude to the donors and the partners of the foundation. Long-term supporters as well as partners who have joined our cause during the last year, were among the nearly 60 guests, who came to this year’s gathering.

The foundation’s Executive Director, Alexandrina Dimitrova, welcomed the guests and expressed her gratitude for their engagement and support during the year:

“2017 was a year of achievement and new adventures for the children and youths in Kyustendil and Kazanlak, a year of new partnerships and of the establishment of The Cedar Foundation as a leading organization in the social sector. Our work is difficult. It requires a lot of resources and success comes slowly. Nevertheless, it’s worth it because it changes lives. This is only possible because of the individuals who are part of Cedar’s team. I would like to use this moment to express my gratitude for their energy, their dedication and their teamwork. I am also grateful to all of you who support us with your resources, your time or your expertise and who have become ambassadors of our common effort. I thank you from all my heart.”

After the address, Mrs. Dimitrova awarded individual Certificates of Gratitude to every guest at the meeting. These certificates were created with the help of iGreet and they come alive, when they are scanned with the ScanAr app. Upon scanning, a short video plays, which shows the children and the youths from The Cedar Foundation’s family-type homes.

During the evening, we thanked our guests using a second video, which was taken in one of our homes in Kazanlak and shows some of our youths singing the traditional Bulgarian folk song “Ergen deda”.

“For everyone at The Cedar Foundation it is very important to work to the strengths of the children and the youths which we provide for and to develop their talents”- said Alexandrina Dimitrova after the song.

The meeting’s attendees also had the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the foundation’s Annual Report, which showcases the achievements, the challenges and the successes of Cedar in the past year.

The event took place with the help of our hosts from Hilton Sofia Hotel, J Point, who printed our Annual Report, and iGreet, who created the special Certificates of Gratitude.
