At The Cedar Foundation’s fundraising charity auction in May 2006 Mark O’Sullivan and Maria Halbherr from The international Women’s Club, presented Veska, a co-founder of the Association and a parent of a disabled child, 3,000 leva to go towards a year’s salary for a social worker. The salary for this worker will be 300 leva a month. The Association had already secured 50 leva a month from local businesses.
The primary role of the social worker will be to inform the parents of their rights and to help them obtain existing state aid. They will also be expected to help the parents with the integration of their children in to schools and other social sectors.
The funds for the salary of the social worker were secured from the kind donations of The International Women’s Club. |
