On November 28 at the invitation of SOS Children’s Villages International Office the Executive Director of The Cedar Foundation, Alexandrina Dimitrova, shared Cedar’s experience with 20 representatives of the SOS organization from countries in Central and Eastern Europe.
In her presentation Alexandrina discussed several key themes: the management of state funded social services, the collaboration between the nongovernmental sector and the state and/or local authorities, and the advocacy in the social sphere.
After the presentation, the participants in the webinar had the opportunity to join an open discussion, ask questions and share their experience on the above topics. They showed great interest in the state funding opportunities for social services in Bulgaria and the preparation of the organization’s budget. The Cedar Foundation’s experience in organizing fundraising campaigns in cooperation with the municipalities, as well as the mechanisms for provision of social services by NGOs were also among the most popular topics.
Both organizers and participants gave a positive feedback about the presentation, saying that it was truly motivating and inspiring for them.
